Benediction and More of God’s Handiwork

This morning, the conference came to a close.

Pastor Vicki offered a final benediction, and just like that, it was time to say goodbye. Hugs were shared. Hands were shaken. Blessings were spoken over one another—each person heading back to their corner of the world, back to the ministries God has entrusted to them.

After days of worship, learning, and deep fellowship, there’s a fullness… and yet a bit of heartache as everyone parts ways. But what a gift—to stand shoulder to shoulder with brothers and sisters in Christ from all across the globe. Different languages, different cultures, one Lord, one mission.

After the benediction, Ski and I headed out to take in a bit more of Kenya.

Our first stop was Fourteen Falls.

Much like safari day, it was another reminder that God doesn’t do anything halfway.

The sheer force and beauty of it all… we were standing in front of a living expression of His creativity. This scripture comes to mind:

“In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” — Psalm 95:4–5

Thank You, Lord, for this amazing opportunity!

From there, we visited a Dole pineapple plantation. We saw massive fields of pineapple ready to be harvested and shipped all over the world. Talk about bearing fruit (the theme of the conference)… very cool!

We purchased two fresh pineapples from a small vendor where a local sliced them up and served them with some salt and cayenne pepper. That was the freshest fruit we’ve ever tasted. It was soooo good!!

We invited our driver, Owen, to join us. This was such a simple moment, but I’ll not forget it… ever!

We wrapped up the day at a Maasai market in Nairobi, where we gathered a few souvenirs to bring home.

There were colors everywhere. Handmade art. Textiles, carvings, beadwork—each piece carrying the imprint of a person, a culture, and a story. It was just another beautiful reflection of the diversity of God’s creation.

This has been a week that will leave a lasting imprint on the ministry God has given for years and years to come.

We were gathered together in this beautiful country for a time to grow and now to be sent back out—rooted a little deeper, our vision a little wider, and our hearts a little more aware of just how big, and how good, our God truly is.

Tomorrow Ski and I will attend a church service here in Nairobi and then go on to a school, where we’ll meet one of Ski’s sponsored children.
